Kamal Aljafari

Le cinéaste palestinien Kamal Aljafari a étudié à la Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln et vit actuellement à Berlin. Il a enseigné la cinématographie à la New School (New York) et au DFFB (Berlin). Il est membre de l’Institut for Ideas and Imagination de l’université de Columbia. En mai 2024, IndieLisboa a consacré une rétrospective à son travail. En 2024, son film UNDR a été sélectionné à l’IFFR et A Fidai Film à Visions du Réel, où il a remporté le Grand Prix du Jury Burning Lights Competition. Aljafari travaille actuellement sur un film de fiction qui sera tourné à Jaffa.

Palestinian filmmaker Kamal Aljafari studied at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln and currently lives in Berlin. He has taught filmmaking at The New School (New York) and the DFFB (Berlin). He is a fellow at the Institute for Ideas and Imagination of Columbia University. In May 2024, IndieLisboa dedicated a retrospective to his work. Aljafari is currently working on a fiction film to be shot in Jaffa.
